As the founding woodworker behind Imoshen Studio, Allen Fulmer takes genuine pride in crafting a wide variety of stylish yet enduring furniture pieces. Following traditional Japanese woodworking practices, Fulmer endeavors to craft pieces that are full of character, in a way that pays homage and respect to the natural environment from which soft and hardwood materials are gathered. Intentionally built to be used daily over a long lifetime, every Imoshen piece is a veritable work of art which joins function and form. View Our WorkStep 1: Discovery
Step 1: Discovery
Your path to actualizing your fine furniture dream with Imoshen Studio begins with an exploratory meeting. During this time, you’ll speak directly with Fulmer, diving into your personal desires, house layout and stylistic preferences to guide him in conceptualizing your design.Step 2: Design
Step 2: Design
Drawing on vast skill in the niche of Japanese-style furniture, our team will create a custom-tailored design that fulfills your personal specifications and exudes sleek functionality thanks to details such as classic Japanese joinery. We’ll send 3D renderings for you to review, and we’ll invite any input or requests to modify any features for the most incredible results.Step 3: Creation
Step 3: Creation
Once we have landed on a design plan that suits your envisionings in the areas of both aesthetics and functionality, our esteemed artist will get to work bringing it into reality. Whether it is a smaller scale piece, like a wood desk, bed or end table designed to accentuate other room elements — or a full room interior complete with storage solutions, strategic room screens and wooden centerpieces — you can be confident that the final product will exceed expectations.Step 4: Installation
Step 4: Installation
When your furniture is finished, we will reach out to arrange the best way to send or install it. Some of our work, like fusuma doors, require specialty handling and installation to ensure their proper functionality. Depending on the pieces involved in your project, our experts will advise on the best plan for incorporating them into your home and taking care of them over the years.About Imoshen Studio

Allen is a phenomenally talented woodworker and when allowed artistic autonomy can create wonders. Capable of building contract work or commissioned custom pieces, Imoshen runs the gambit. Honest, hardworking, and great craftsmanship should be this company's slogan. I definitely recommend to all who are interested.

We have been working with Allen for three projects: our customized bookshelf, my office table and a matching display table, and our new kitchen cabinet (on going). Every time, the product that Allen made is more than my expectation. Allen's wood works (furnitures) are simply elegant and beautiful and bring the vitality of nature into our house. In addition, Allen is very engaging and responsive. He would listen to what we have in mind, measure the spaces carefully, and come up with a customized design. He is patient and works back and forth with us to get the best design and product. His installation is on time and painless. After knowing Allen, I started to appreciate the art of wood work. Every time when I use or walk through the furniture pieces that he made for us, I feel joyful. I would definitely ask Allen if I have other wood related project in the future.

Allen built us a beautiful dining room table as well as custom shelving in a bedroom closet. He's kind, professional, and has a great eye for detail. We gave him a rough idea of what we wanted and what he came back with was nothing short of perfection. We can't recommend him enough.

I have purchased multiple pieces of furniture from Imoshen Studios. They have all been exceptional quality, and I look forward to having them stay in the family for many generations. Truly heirloom quality pieces of furniture. Allen is great to work with, understood my needs, and helped me realize what I wanted as well. I can’t recommend them enough.

Allen built me a Japanese house. It is 8’ by 11’ feet with all Japanese joinery. He installed the tatami mats and built the circular frame for the Japanese Enso window.
He is one of the most honest and talented builder I have ever dealt with.
