Why Work With Imoshen?
As the founding artist behind Imoshen Studio, Allen Fulmer takes genuine pride in handcrafting a wide range of modern yet timeless furniture pieces. Utilizing traditional Japanese carpentry techniques, Fulmer endeavors to craft pieces which are full of character, in a manner that pays homage and regard to the natural environment from which hard and softwood materials are harvested. Intentionally constructed to be used daily over a full lifespan, each Imoshen piece is a true work of art which brings together function and form. View Our WorkStep 1: Discovery
Step 1: Discovery
Your journey to actualizing your fine furniture vision with Imoshen Studio starts with an exploratory consultation. During this time, you will speak directly with Fulmer, discussing your personal desires, home layout and stylistic vision to lead him in conceptualizing your design.Step 2: Design
Step 2: Design
Drawing on vast expertise in the realm of Japanese-style furnishings, our team will create a personalized design that fulfills your personal specifications and emanates sleek functionality owing to features such as traditional Japanese joinery. You’ll receive 3D renderings for you to review, and we will welcome any feedback or requests to adjust certain features for the most incredible outcome.Step 3: Creation
Step 3: Creation
Once we have landed on a design plan that suits your vision in the areas of both aesthetics and functionality, our esteemed artist will go to work making it a reality. Whether it is a single piece, such as a wood desk, bed or end table made to accentuate other room elements — or a full room interior complete with storage solutions, strategic room screens and wooden centerpieces — you can be confident that the final product will surpass expectations.Step 4: Installation
Step 4: Installation
When your furniture is finished, we will reach out to arrange the best method to deliver or install it. Some of our work, like fusuma doors, call for specialty installation and handling to ensure their full functionality. Depending on the pieces included in your project, our experts will advise on the best plan for incorporating them into your interior and taking care of them over time.About Us

Allen is a phenomenally talented woodworker and when allowed artistic autonomy can create wonders. Capable of building contract work or commissioned custom pieces, Imoshen runs the gambit. Honest, hardworking, and great craftsmanship should be this company's slogan. I definitely recommend to all who are interested.

We have been working with Allen for three projects: our customized bookshelf, my office table and a matching display table, and our new kitchen cabinet (on going). Every time, the product that Allen made is more than my expectation. Allen's wood works (furnitures) are simply elegant and beautiful and bring the vitality of nature into our house. In addition, Allen is very engaging and responsive. He would listen to what we have in mind, measure the spaces carefully, and come up with a customized design. He is patient and works back and forth with us to get the best design and product. His installation is on time and painless. After knowing Allen, I started to appreciate the art of wood work. Every time when I use or walk through the furniture pieces that he made for us, I feel joyful. I would definitely ask Allen if I have other wood related project in the future.

Allen built us a beautiful dining room table as well as custom shelving in a bedroom closet. He's kind, professional, and has a great eye for detail. We gave him a rough idea of what we wanted and what he came back with was nothing short of perfection. We can't recommend him enough.

I have purchased multiple pieces of furniture from Imoshen Studios. They have all been exceptional quality, and I look forward to having them stay in the family for many generations. Truly heirloom quality pieces of furniture. Allen is great to work with, understood my needs, and helped me realize what I wanted as well. I can’t recommend them enough.

Allen built me a Japanese house. It is 8’ by 11’ feet with all Japanese joinery. He installed the tatami mats and built the circular frame for the Japanese Enso window.
He is one of the most honest and talented builder I have ever dealt with.
