Why Work With Imoshen?
As the founding woodworker behind Imoshen Studio, Allen Fulmer takes great pride in handcrafting a wide range of stylish yet timeless furniture creations. Utilizing traditional Japanese woodworking practices, Fulmer endeavors to deliver pieces which are full of character, in a manner that pays homage and respect to the natural world from which hard and softwood materials are gathered. Intentionally built to be used daily over a long lifetime, each Imoshen piece is a true work of art that brings together function and form. View Our WorkStep 1: Discovery
Step 1: Discovery
Your path to realizing your fine furniture vision with Imoshen Studio starts with an exploratory meeting. At this time, you’ll speak directly with Fulmer, diving into your unique desires, house layout and stylistic preferences to direct his conceptualization of your design.Step 2: Design
Step 2: Design
Drawing on proven skill in the realm of Japanese-style furnishings, our team will create a custom-tailored design that meets your unique specifications and emanates seamless functionality owing to details such as traditional Japanese joinery. You’ll receive 3D renderings for your review, and we’ll welcome any input or requests to fine-tune any features for the most outstanding results.Step 3: Creation
Step 3: Creation
Once we’ve landed on a design plan which suits your vision in the areas of both appearance and function, our recognized artist will go to work bringing it into reality. Whether it’s a smaller scale piece, like a wood desk, end table or bed designed to complement other room components — or a total room interior including storage solutions, strategic room dividers and wooden centerpieces — you can be confident that the finished piece will surpass expectations.Step 4: Installation
Step 4: Installation
Once your furniture is finished, we will reach out to discuss the best way to send or install it. Some of our work, like fusuma doors, require careful handling and installation to ensure their full performance. Depending on the pieces involved in your project, our professionals will advise on the best plan for incorporating them into your interior and taking care of them over the years.About Us

Allen is a phenomenally talented woodworker and when allowed artistic autonomy can create wonders. Capable of building contract work or commissioned custom pieces, Imoshen runs the gambit. Honest, hardworking, and great craftsmanship should be this company's slogan. I definitely recommend to all who are interested.

We have been working with Allen for three projects: our customized bookshelf, my office table and a matching display table, and our new kitchen cabinet (on going). Every time, the product that Allen made is more than my expectation. Allen's wood works (furnitures) are simply elegant and beautiful and bring the vitality of nature into our house. In addition, Allen is very engaging and responsive. He would listen to what we have in mind, measure the spaces carefully, and come up with a customized design. He is patient and works back and forth with us to get the best design and product. His installation is on time and painless. After knowing Allen, I started to appreciate the art of wood work. Every time when I use or walk through the furniture pieces that he made for us, I feel joyful. I would definitely ask Allen if I have other wood related project in the future.

Allen built us a beautiful dining room table as well as custom shelving in a bedroom closet. He's kind, professional, and has a great eye for detail. We gave him a rough idea of what we wanted and what he came back with was nothing short of perfection. We can't recommend him enough.

I have purchased multiple pieces of furniture from Imoshen Studios. They have all been exceptional quality, and I look forward to having them stay in the family for many generations. Truly heirloom quality pieces of furniture. Allen is great to work with, understood my needs, and helped me realize what I wanted as well. I can’t recommend them enough.

Allen built me a Japanese house. It is 8’ by 11’ feet with all Japanese joinery. He installed the tatami mats and built the circular frame for the Japanese Enso window.
He is one of the most honest and talented builder I have ever dealt with.
